Laguna Niguel: The Three Most Common Same-Day Calls We Run
Laguna Niguel sits in a sweet spot for our service area. Three repair scenarios make up the bulk of what we see in homes around Crown Valley, Bear Brand, and Marina Hills.
No-spin washer. On the older Whirlpool and Maytag top-loaders common in 1990s-era LN homes, this almost always traces to a worn motor coupler — a $25 part with about a 45-minute job. In newer units, the lid switch is the more common culprit.
Dryer that runs but won’t heat. Electric models point to the heating element or the thermal fuse. Gas models point to the gas valve coils or the igniter. Both diagnoses take about 20 minutes with a multimeter and the wiring diagram.
Drum that won’t turn or makes a loud squeal. That’s either a broken drive belt, a worn idler pulley, or the drum rollers themselves, often a combination of all three on machines past the 12-year mark.
